ActiveHired is expanding its remote specialist bench with a Online Mechanical Engineering Specialist — AI Model Training & Evaluation — Generative AI Domain Expert at $80 - $150/hour. Contributors work asynchronously from home across major English-speaking countries, translating real-world workflows in Python, Mechanical Engineering into high-signal training examples and multi-step evaluation criteria for enterprise AI models.

Primary Responsibilities

• Use Python to automate model preparation, simulation, parameter sweeps, optimization, postprocessing, and verification.
• An MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline; or
• A BS in Mechanical Engineering plus at least 1–2 years of relevant professional experience in mechanical design, analysis, simulation, testing, or R&D.
• Strong understanding of applied mechanics and mechanical-engineering fundamentals.
• Experience developing analytical, computational, or simulation-based engineering solutions.
• Practical proficiency with Python and coding agents.
• Relevant tools may include CalculiX, Gmsh, Elmer, FEniCSx, CadQuery, OpenSCAD, OpenFOAM, or similar programmatic engineering software. Experience with an equivalent CLI-accessible tool is acceptable.
