ActiveHired is expanding its remote specialist bench with a Online Senior Aviation Maintenance Inspector — Scientific & Engineering AI — Generative AI Domain Expert at $70 - $130/hour. Contributors work asynchronously from home across major English-speaking countries, translating real-world workflows in FAA A&P Maintenance & Inspection, Borescope Engine Inspection, Aircraft Maintenance Manual & IPC Reading, Composite Structure Inspection into high-signal training examples and multi-step evaluation criteria for enterprise AI models.

Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive written and verbal insights on maintenance and inspection procedures to inform AI model development.
• Cross-reference maintenance tasks with FAA Parts 43, 121, 135, and 145 to ensure compliance and accurate process representation.
• Contribute subject matter expertise to refine and validate data sets used for AI training in aviation contexts.
• Demonstrated professional or academic background in FAA A&P Maintenance & Inspection, Borescope Engine Inspection, Aircraft Maintenance Manual & IPC Reading, Composite Structure Inspection, Approach Plate & Flight Ops Briefing.
• Strong analytical reasoning and ability to articulate complex concepts clearly in written English.
• High attention to detail when reviewing technical or domain-specific documentation.
• Self-motivated and reliable within an asynchronous remote work environment.

Skills & Experience Needed

• Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities, with a strong attention to detail.
• Experience as a check airman or in training/mentoring roles within aviation maintenance settings is a plus.
• Compensation Band: $70 - $130/hour
• Work Location: Remote (100% Remote / Asynchronous Flexibility)
• Available Openings: 20 open positions

• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate, Inspection Authorization (IA), or equivalent Part 145 inspector status strongly preferred.
