ActiveHired is expanding its remote specialist bench with a Online Senior DoD Staff Writing Subject Matter Advisor — AI Model Training & Evaluation — Generative AI Domain Expert at $40 - $80/hour. Contributors work asynchronously from home across major English-speaking countries, translating real-world workflows in military writing, federal documentation standards, report generation and evaluation, grading rubric development into high-signal training examples and multi-step evaluation criteria for enterprise AI models.

Primary Responsibilities

• Engage in feedback cycles to refine prompts, responses, and grading rubrics based on project needs and model performance.
• Leverage back-office and communication experience to simulate weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting formats familiar to federal organizations.
• Demonstrated professional or academic background in military writing, federal documentation standards, report generation and evaluation, grading rubric development, written and verbal communication, department of defense procedures.
• Strong analytical reasoning and ability to articulate complex concepts clearly in written English.
• High attention to detail when reviewing technical or domain-specific documentation.
• Self-motivated and reliable within an asynchronous remote work environment.
• Develop and provide well-structured prompts, input artifacts, and golden responses for diverse Department of Defense (DoD) staff writing tasks such as WARs, SITREPs, executive summaries, and performance reports.

Skills & Experience Needed

• Strong analytical skills for evaluating and providing constructive feedback on model-generated staff writing outputs.
• US-based with an understanding of federal compliance, reporting requirements, and DoD-specific terminology and workflows.
• Compensation Band: $40 - $80/hour
• Work Location: Remote (100% Remote / Asynchronous Flexibility)

• Former federal contributor for the U.S. Department of War (Department of Defense), with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
