ActiveHired is expanding its remote specialist bench with a Online Mechanical Design Engineer — CAD & Manufacturing — AI Model Training & Evaluation — Generative AI Domain Expert at $40 - $80/hour. Contributors work asynchronously from home across major English-speaking countries, translating real-world workflows in solidworks, fusion 360, onshape, inventor into high-signal training examples and multi-step evaluation criteria for enterprise AI models.

Primary Responsibilities

• Document and communicate manufacturing processes and design intent in clear, well-structured written and verbal formats.
• Review, critique, and improve existing engineering documentation to enhance clarity and manufacturability.
• Contribute insights on design for manufacture (DFM) and help optimize parts for real-world production scenarios.
• Demonstrated professional or academic background in solidworks, fusion 360, onshape, inventor, creo, nx.
• Strong analytical reasoning and ability to articulate complex concepts clearly in written English.
• High attention to detail when reviewing technical or domain-specific documentation.
• Self-motivated and reliable within an asynchronous remote work environment.

Skills & Experience Needed

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to document decisions and explain engineering concepts clearly.
• Experience collaborating on engineering projects remotely and sharing feedback in a constructive, professional manner.
• Compensation Band: $40 - $80/hour
• Work Location: Remote (100% Remote / Asynchronous Flexibility)
• Available Openings: 10 open positions
• Core Competencies: solidworks, fusion 360, onshape, inventor, creo, nx, freecad, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (gd&t), engineering drawing interpretation, technical documentation
• Extensive industry experience in mechanical design, with parts successfully transitioned from concept through to manufacturing.

Remuneration & Remote Setup

• Compensation Rate: $40 - $80/hour (contract specialist remuneration)
