Online Certified Inpatient Coder — Generative AI Domain Expert

ActiveHired is expanding its remote specialist bench with a Online Certified Inpatient Coder — Generative AI Domain Expert at $50 - $70/hour. Contributors work asynchronously from home across major English-speaking countries, translating real-world workflows in Inpatient Coding, Inpatient Records, ICD-10, CIC into high-signal training examples and multi-step evaluation criteria for enterprise AI models.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assess and benchmark model-generated clinical notes and summaries against real-world documentation and coding standards.
• Code model-generated diagnostic and procedural information from the record using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS classification systems.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in diagnosis and procedure coding, ensuring the integrity of record abstraction and data capture.
• Supply detailed, transparent written feedback on coding errors and complex cases to improve model performance.
• Demonstrated professional or academic background in Inpatient Coding, Inpatient Records, ICD-10, CIC, CPC, AAPC.
• Strong analytical reasoning and ability to articulate complex concepts clearly in written English.
• Review and analyze inpatient medical records to ensure accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding in alignment with current guidelines and best practices.

Skills & Experience Needed

• Currently working in inpatient medical coding, clinical documentation improvement, or a closely related documentation role.
• Availability of at least 10 hours per week.
• Compensation Band: $50 - $70/hour
• Work Location: Remote (100% Remote / Asynchronous Flexibility)
